2. Data Sources & Attribution
MEPMap processes publicly available data from the European Parliament, including:
- Roll-call vote results (XML files published after each plenary session)
- Document references and titles from the EP document repository
- MEP biographical information from the EP website and archives

3. Disclaimer
MEPMap provides analytical tools based on publicly available European Parliament data. While we strive for accuracy, the service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
3.1 Data accuracy
The European Parliament's source data may contain inconsistencies, including variations in MEP name spelling, diacritical marks, and occasional discrepancies between voting records and the official MEP register. MEPMap uses automated reconciliation techniques (fuzzy matching) to resolve these inconsistencies, which may introduce a residual margin of error. FOSS4EU SRL cannot be held responsible for errors originating in the source data.
3.2 No professional advice
The analyses, visualisations, and data presented on MEPMap are for informational purposes only and do not constitute political, legal, or professional advice. Users should verify critical information against official European Parliament sources before relying on it for decision-making purposes.
3.3 Service availability
FOSS4EU SRL does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the service. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We accept no liability for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions.
3.4 External links
MEPMap may contain links to the European Parliament website and other external sites. We have no control over the content, availability, or data protection practices of external websites and accept no responsibility for them.
4. Intellectual Property
The MEPMap platform, including its software, user interface, analytical methods, visualisations, and documentation, is the intellectual property of FOSS4EU SRL and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
The underlying European Parliament data remains the property of the European Union and is used in accordance with the EP's reuse policy.
The MEPMap name, logo, and brand identity are trademarks of FOSS4EU SRL. They may not be used without prior written consent.
5. Privacy Policy
5.1 Data controller
FOSS4EU SRL, Belgium (VAT: BE 0774.499.666) is the data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

5.3 MEP personal data
MEPMap processes publicly available information about Members of the European Parliament, including names, nationality, political group affiliation, and voting records. This processing is based on legitimate interest in democratic transparency (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is consistent with the European Parliament's own publication of this data under the Open Data Directive (EU) 2019/1024.

5.6 Cookies
MEPMap uses strictly necessary cookies for authentication session management. Website analytics are collected via a self-hosted Matomo instance (analytics.mepmap.eu) hosted on our own servers in France. Matomo is configured to anonymise IP addresses and respect "Do Not Track" browser settings. No data is shared with third parties. No advertising or tracking cookies from external services are used.
6. Terms of Service
6.1 Service description
MEPMap is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for analysing European Parliament voting data. Access is provided on a subscription basis or by invitation.
6.2 Acceptable use
Users agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or other users' accounts
- Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download data from the platform
- Misrepresent MEPMap analyses as official European Parliament positions
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
6.3 Intellectual property in outputs
Users may freely use, publish, and share analyses, charts, and data exports generated by MEPMap, provided they attribute the source as "MEPMap (mepmap.eu)" and do not misrepresent the results as official European Parliament output.
6.4 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Belgian law, FOSS 4 EU SRL's total liability under any claim arising from the use of MEPMap shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. In no event shall FOSS 4 EU SRL be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
6.5 Governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Brussels, Belgium.
